Who can participate in ARTEAST?
ARTEAST is open to artists living / working in Madison County; as well as artist-members of the Jacoby Arts Center who live in these neighboring Illinois counties: Jersey, Macoupin, Montgomery, Bond, Clinton, and St. Clair.

When
ARTEAST 2009 will take place on one weekend, October 17 & 18, 11 AM – 5 PM both days.

Where
Artists are encouraged to open their studios to the public, participate through a gallery, or coordinate an exhibit with an alternative site (bank, frame shop, coffee shop, etc.). There are many possible venues for exhibitions, each having their own guidelines.  If you need a suggestion, please call or email for a list. Whatever your choice,  choose one site and plan to be with your work during the event.

Fees
Each artist helps defray expenses through the $25 application fee.

ARTEAST artists have an opportunity to become a new or renewing member of the Jacoby Arts Center for $15, and purchase ARTEAST T-shirts for $10 each. It is essential that artists send their money with their applications by the deadline of May 1st, 2009. There will be a $10 late fee required for applications postmarked after May 1. No applications will be accepted after May 15.

Supporters
Businesses, who serve as exhibition sites, are invited to add a link to the ARTEAST website for $25.

Here’s how to participate:
1.  Decide where you plan to exhibit. All venues will be published in the ARTEAST brochure.
2.  Fill out the enclosed application and return it along with your check: payable to the Jacoby Arts Center.
3.  Mail by May 1, to ARTEAST, PO Box 891, Edwardsville, IL 62025 (Or drop off your completed form at the Jacoby Arts Center, 627 E. Broadway, Alton, IL 62002 618-462-5222)

In addition to this website, we've set up a facebook group to improve our sharing of information among the participants in ARTEAST. We'll be announcing organizational meetings, locations, participants, etc. Also, if you're a participating artist, feel free to upload photos of your work to this group and share a bit about yourself. We'll have more to share as we continue to prepare for this year's event. If you have photos from a past ARTEAST, please upload them as well. Check back with this site for more detailed information as we get nearer to the event.
